Acquarius has been shortlisted for The Award for Learning and Development (up to 249 employees) at the Investors in People Awards 2026, recognising the firm’s commitment to helping its people grow and progress.
‍

The nomination follows Acquarius’s recent shortlisting for Boutique Firm of the Year (Non-Legal) at the STEP Private Client Awards. Together, these recognitions put the Gibraltar firm on an international stage, showcasing the expertise and ambition within its team and contributing to the jurisdiction’s reputation for quality professional services.
‍

For the people behind Acquarius, the latest shortlisting celebrates something woven into everyday working life: colleagues sharing their experience, supporting professional study and encouraging each other to take the next step in their careers.
‍

Supporting ambition

At Acquarius, professional qualifications and practical experience develop together. Colleagues are supported through formal study and given opportunities to apply their knowledge, take on greater responsibility and learn from experienced practitioners.
‍

The team holds qualifications across STEP, the Chartered Governance Institute, ACCA, the International Compliance Association and the Chartered Banker Institute. Opportunities to work across roles and teams help colleagues broaden their understanding of the business and the clients they support.
‍

Acquarius is also a STEP-accredited Employer Partner, recognising its commitment to supporting professional development in trust and estate practice. Alongside the firm’s Investors in People accreditation, this reinforces the support colleagues receive to build their expertise and advance their careers.
‍

That exchange is central to the Acquarius Way. People are encouraged to challenge themselves and each other, contribute ideas and improve how the firm works. Asking questions and sharing experience are part of that process, with senior colleagues taking an active interest in others’ development.
‍

Better judgement, stronger relationships

Trust and corporate services demand careful judgement. A client’s circumstances change, a family’s interests evolve and new requirements affect how a structure is managed. Teams need the knowledge to respond and the experience to recognise when a decision needs closer attention.
‍

Learning helps build that confidence. It gives colleagues the tools to ask better questions, explain decisions clearly and work effectively with clients and their advisers.
‍

Developing careers within the firm also helps preserve the knowledge behind those relationships. As colleagues take on greater responsibility, they bring their understanding of the clients and structures they have worked with. Clients benefit from familiar people whose expertise continues to grow.
‍

For an independent, owner-managed business established in Gibraltar in 1998, investing in those careers is part of building lasting relationships.
‍

Taking Gibraltar’s expertise further

The STEP and Investors in People shortlisting recognise different strengths within Acquarius: its work in private client services and its commitment to developing the people who deliver them. They also give the firm an opportunity to represent Gibraltar among international peers, demonstrating the calibre of the professionals building their careers here.
‍

Gareth Cross, Chief Operating Officer at Acquarius said:
‍

“Seeing Acquarius recognised internationally twice in recent months gives the whole team something to celebrate. We see the effort colleagues put into developing their skills and helping each other progress, so this nomination feels particularly personal. We’re proud to represent Gibraltar and to show what a team here can achieve when people have the support and opportunity to grow.”
‍

The winners will be announced at the Investors in People Awards ceremony in London on 18 November.
